Modern Slavery Policy

Anti-slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Effective: 01/2016
Owner: Mark Doherty
Last Amended: 01/2021

Policy Statement

This policy applies to all persons working for Laxcon Construction Ltd. (‘we’) or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, agents, contractors, and suppliers and outlines our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (‘the Act’).

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking are illegal offenses and we strictly prohibits the use of these methods in our operations and throughout our supply chain. We remain committed to implementing systems and controls that are aimed at ensuring that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our organisation or in any of our supply chains. We demand the same commitment from our suppliers.

Organisational Commitments

To reinforce Laxcon’s commitment to the Act, the Organisation has put in place the following safeguards to combat these practices:

  • A zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in our organisation and across our supply chains
  • The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our organisation or supply chain. Workers must not engage in, facilitate, or fail to report any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy
  • Engaging with our stakeholders and suppliers to address the risk of modern slavery in our operations and our supply chain
  • Requesting recruitment agencies and other third-party agents supplying workers to confirm their compliance with modern slavery laws and adherence to this Policy
  • Offering training to all employees to guarantee awareness of the dangers of modern slavery and how to detect early indicators of the offenses

Breaches of this Policy

Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct. We may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organisations working for us or on our behalf (including suppliers) if they breach this policy.
